Automatic Air Blast Flushing of Electrostatic Precipitator

The plate type electrostatic precipitator (ESP) is commonly used for preventing pollution and collection of dust particles from the flue gases in industries. The excessive accumulation of ash/dust particles on the plates due to high resistivity or stickiness of ash being some of the reasons to cause dc short circuit. This article deals with an idea of preventing the damage due to dc shorting that may occur between discharge electrode and grounded collection plates by automatic air blast flushing mechanism for dislodging the accumulated ash/dust particles.
