The Effect of Next –Level Housekeeping via Technology on the Perceptions of the Hospitality Aspirants

With the expansion of the Hospitality Industry, a huge leap of technological evolution is witnessed in the last decade. The number of employers and employees have also increased. But with the increase in opportunity, the industry is also facing backlashes on the quality of the manpower and their skills. This study has been undertaken to analyze the effect of technology in attracting hospitality aspirants to pursue a career in the housekeeping department and choose it over other departments to go ahead in the future. Today not only hotels are dependent on the housekeeping department to generate their maximum revenue but there are multiple industries and various sectors of hospitality that are reliant on housekeeping for the smooth functioning of their respective operations. The housekeeping department of hotels are nowadays well equipped with world class technology to provide premium quality service and to attain the utmost level of guest satisfaction. Gone are the days when star category hotels were dependent on the manual procedure to complete daily operations. Therefore, to accomplish the research objective, data of 300 students were collected through a structured questionnaire or interview method. The outcome of this study unveils the perception of aspirants to select the housekeeping department of star category hotels of Delhi NCR. The limitation of this study is confined to students of hospitality management of Delhi NCR.
