IT Governance in a DevOps World

DevOps is an emerging paradigm for information technology delivery. However, little research has examined the implications of DevOps on the theoretically based foundations for information technology governance. This article contributes to this new area of discourse by examining the challenges faced by institutions in reimagining their information technology governance mechanisms to accommodate DevOps. To further illustrate the profound implications of DevOps delivery models for information technology governance, we examine its theoretical impacts on the United States Department of Defense.
