A Review on DG optimal planning strategy considering the bus voltage stability improvement of a radial type network

Every country across the globe emphasizes the use of small capacity distributed resources that are directly connected across load end distribution network. However, most of the time these resources are based on renewable energy sources so as to give maximum benefit in terms of reduction in carbon emission, reduction in line burden and the improvement on overall health of electricity market. Due to many restriction laid down across the world as it becomes mandatory to increase the participation of small capacity distributed generators(DG) to meet the current and future load growth. Distributed Generation has high influence on reliability, bus voltage improvement, and technical loss reduction of a network. However, the optimal allocation of DG is an essential task to be performed to maximize the benefits for a specific investment. This paper attempts to present the work being done on the optimal DG deployment with an objective to improve the voltage stability in radial bus type network. Different techniques which are generally used to address DG optimal allocation problem of transmission network are failure for power distribution network. Because of the fact that distribution network having a wide range of X/R ratios, a more number of nodes and radial type structure. An attempt has been made to get an idea that which techniques are effective to look after stability enhancement in optimal allocation of DG across the distribution network.
