Evaluation Performance of Mono- and Polycrystalline Photovoltaic Modules Installed in Outdoor Environment

This paper presents the degradation of four photovoltaic modules operated in an outdoor environment. Accordingly, two monocrystalline-silicon, one polycrystalline-silicon PV modules installed in an arid climate at Adrar (Latitude 27.88, Longitude -0.28 and Elevation 263), Algeria. Likewise, one monocrystalline-silicon PV module installed in a semi-arid climate at Constantine (Latitude 36.28, Longitude 6.61 and Elevation 694), Algeria. The study found that the highest loss was shown in the maximum power point (Pp) that can be from 1.36%/year to 2.37 %/year and the losses of the short-circuit current ( Isc) is from 0.67%/year to 1.6%/year. In addition, the open-circuit voltage (Voc) is the least degraded parameter.
