Mainlobe Jamming Suppression with Frequency Diverse Array Radar

The range-angle beam-pattern of frequency diverse array has the potential to deal with main-lobe jamming. Regardless of the beam-pattern's time-variance, the transmit-receive beam-pattern can focus on targets in range and angle dimensions. But the range-angle beam-pattern of FDA cannot distinguish between the true targets and the false targets generated by the jammer. The received false targets' signal is in the same with the true targets' in the same place. In order to suppress the main-lobe jamming, a novel transmitting beampattern synthesis method of FDA is proposed to solve mainlobe jamming.
