IEEE Std. P1302–2019: A Guidance Document for the Characterization of Shielding Gaskets

The revision of the standard “IEEE Guide for the Electromagnetic Characterization of Conductive Gaskets in the Frequency Range of DC to 40 GHz” has been published as IEEE Std 1302 - 2019. Since its first edition in 2008, technology has changed a lot, especially concerning measurement methods and frequency range of interest (up to 40 GHz). In this letter, an overview of the different test methods will be given, and for each one, typical characteristics and the accompanying implementation or use of the test results in specific design applications will be highlighted.
