Improving Optimal Power Flow Approximations With Resistive Aware Linear Formulations

Many recent works have attempted to introduce novel linear approximations to the Alternate Current (AC) Optimal Power Flow (OPF), with the aim to comprehensively account for grid resistances. This work updates some promising previous set-ups and offers a non-exhaustive, yet concise assessment among the former, DC, Decoupled and recent resistive-aware linear approximations to the OPF. A novel metric for the performance of the approximations to the AC OPF - the feasibility gap - is introduced.
