Real time software processing approach for digital sound broadcasting

Examines the progress made toward the aim of processing high quality digital audio signals for broadcasting applications and compares, from the CCETT experience, the respective interest of the ASIC (hardware) and DSP (software) approaches. It describes in particular a full DSP software approach on a specialized Audio Workstation named MISTRAL which makes possible the concept of 'interactive simulation'.<>
