Design and Analysis of Robust Interleaved Buck Converter with Minimal Ripple Current

This paper introduces a robust interleaved buck converter with Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) with very minimal losses and an improved duty ratio, which is used in DC grid where power and current are extremely high. The two main switches are connected in parallel, and the power path connects a coupling capacitor. The converter shows that the potential amplitude in all the active switches is half the input voltage before turn-on or after turn-off and the summation of the ripple current through inductors is very small. This allows the converter to perform better and to work with higher operating frequencies. The converter also has a larger buck conversion duty ratio and a lower ripple of output current compared with a typical converter. Throughout this paper the characteristics, operating theory, simulation and experimental results are discussed. Experimental tests of model converter of 2 kW with 92-100 V input, 48 V/42 A output, accustom this study's effectiveness.
