A Portable Recovery Device for Vibrational Energy and Solar Energy

An energy recovery device is designed for wearing on the forearm, which is used to collect the vibrational energy generated by the natural swing of the arm from human movement and the solar energy. The energy recovery device is composed of four parts: three-layer piezoelectric system, peripheral solar energy recovery system, rectification and voltage stabilization system as well as energy storage system. The model is established to analyze the energy recovery performance and energy storage performance of the recovery device. Moreover, the prototype is made and the relevant data are tested. The test results show that when people walk in a clear day with normal gait (average speed 2km/h-8km/h), the piezoelectric system of the experimental prototype can generate a voltage of 1.6V-2.1V, and the overall output power can reach 4.2mW. Additionally, the solar energy recovery system can generate a voltage of around 5V, and the overall output power is about 122mW.
