Design Optimization of Electric Traction UAVs

In today's context, drones are getting ever more popular. The advantages of operating such devices are evident due to the need for cutting down on polluting gas emissions, to which the use of electric traction UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) are a viable solution. From this point of view, the present paper proposes an optimization algorithm for designing electric traction UAVs. Making use of a database containing the specifications of a number of 24 brushless engines, and taking into account the operating requirements such as the useful load, flight time, etc., the proposed algorithm, together with the software application, is the optimal construction solution for the project design.
