A Study on the Analysis of Training and Retention Strategies in some selected IT sectors at Odisha

Around the Globe, the retention of skilled IT professionals has emerged as a severe anxiety to management due to a huge turnover of the industry. The preferred significant procedures for retention strategy among the IT industry is required to be made for the sustenance of competition amongst the giant IT companies. Many organizations have faced an increasingly competitive global business climate over the past decade. Therefore, various organizations are preparing different strategies to raise employees ' training and retention strategies to improve their performance. As a result, existing HR expertise has become imperative due to the rapidly changing technologies and competitive climate in the Information System (IT), as a result of which the dedication and role of top HRD management is quite a challenge. The study was conducted to determine the importance of the IT sector's staff training and retention approaches across Odisha. Results indicate that staff training has several issues, such as industry impediments; cost issues, employee disposition, and manager's myopia. The top management, therefore, needs to shed the indifference between the workplace and make a concerted effort to implement training in order to derive its benefits. Primary data from 100 managers and secondary data through newspapers, magazines, books, and internet are collected for this purpose. The study outcome is expected to assist decision-makers in developing effective strategies for training and retention. SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) is used to interpret the data so collected. Towards the end of the paper it was also described how well graph database might be proved to be efficient in storing the results obtained from the analysis.
