Design of charging system with the elimination of electric arc during switching off

This article shows the design of the charging system. The proposed system is simulated and tested on a real sample. The system is designed to charge high capacities with high input voltage and very low resistance in the circuit. While charging such capacities without a suitable limitation, large inrush currents occur which have destructive effects on the circuit. In the proposed system, the user sets the size of the charging current, which during charging does not reach a higher current value that was set, and the capacitors are charged gradually. The system fulfills the function of a disconnector, where there is a problem when turning off high DC voltage, structure of system prevents the occurrence of an electric arc during shutdown.
