Effect of Chamber Width on Coke Characteristics

The coking experiments of blending coal were completed in coking chamber with different width. The result reveals that coke shrinkage in coking chamber increases with the increase of coking chamber width, it is useful for coke pushing; coke crack increases and the degree of disintegration is becoming more and more serious, the increase of coking chamber width goes against the increase of metallurgical coke yield. When a coal with the same expansion value is blended in a coke oven with different width, there is no obvious consistent change trend of coke quality with the increase of coke oven width, coke quality and coking chamber width are not in direct or inverse proportion. Therefore, no matter the company is designing or choosing a coke oven, the increasing of coking chamber width must be careful.
