Vibration monitoring of the MRI Scanner’s cold head

The objective of this work is to predict a failure of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scanner (MRIS) cold head and helium exhaust by monitoring the vibration signals. In order to achieve this objective, we started with a technical study of the helium circuit in MRIS Philips 3T, then, we focus on the main reasons of accidental Quench and their effect on vibration contains. We have subsequently developed a monitoring system based on monitoring vibration on the various key points of the liquid helium cooling. This non-invasive monitoring system complements the pressure and temperature system implemented by the manufacturer.
