Energy Performance and Economic Analysis of Different PV Technologies for Grid Connected Rooftop PV System

With the growing concern about environmental issues and depletion of conventional energy sources, the utilization of renewable energy sources such as solar photovoltaic (PV) technology being recommended for electricity generation. In India due to government support and subsidies roof-integrated residential PV systems have been come out as an economically feasible energy source. To investigate the feasibility of the PV system at a given location the modeling and analysis of the system before practical installation is needed. In this paper energy performance and economic analysis of grid-connected rooftop PV system at Delhi are presented by using pvsyst simulation tool. The simulation is performed by importing information regarding meteorological data, component pricing, and policies in Delhi. A comparative study is performed for five different PV module technologies based on lifetime economic analysis and energy performance.
