The Subsurface Radar Application in the Hidden Underground Objects Detection

GPR – a geophysical method based on the emission of pulses of electromagnetic waves and the registration of signals reflected from various objects in the probed medium. Objects of the georadar application are medium with low and moderate electromagnetic waves absorption. The subject of the study is an ultra-wideband antenna modeling. The presented article reveals the relevance of research in the chosen direction, poses the problem, the purpose of the study, indicates the methodological base of the study, its theoretical and practical significance, ultra-wideband antennas investigation and the antenna system simulation. The dielectric properties of the soil are considered, and the study of the principles of constructing underground sounding radars is also shown. The results of experiments using ultra-wideband antennas in geolocation are discussed. The conclusion is made about the use of different types of georadars in geospatial exploration.
