Research of the Influence of Multiphysical Processes on the Operation Mode of a Complex Electrotechnical Object Using the Example of a Power Transformer

This article is devoted to the study of the influence of multiphysical processes on the operation mode of a complex electrotechnical object (CEO). Comprehensive diagnosis of CEO is impossible without an integrated consideration of heterogeneous physical processes that affect the effectiveness of its functioning. A power transformer with an amorphous steel magnetic core is considered as an example of a CEO. Power transformers with an amorphous steel magnetic core are promising for implementation due to high energy efficiency. However, such transformers are very sensitive to external influences. Thermal and mechanical effects on the operation mode of a transformer with a magnetic core made of amorphous steel are considered. The operation mode of the transformer is evaluated based on its external characteristics. The results of the research showed that thermal and mechanical effects lead to a significant change in the magnetic properties of the magnetic core and, as a consequence, the external characteristics of the transformer.
