Mathematical and Physical Modeling Cooling Process for Solid Waste Tire Pyrolysis Products

The report focuses on the development and implementation of the method for determining the thermal conductivity of coke residue. Coke residue is the product of waste tire pyrolysis. The method is based on the use of physical and mathematical modeling with varied use of IT. Experiments for study the cooling process of the coke residue layer in the air in the temperature range from 500 °C to ambient temperature have been performed. The temperature and time dependences at several points of the layer have been obtained. A mathematical model of the measuring chamber reproducing the experimental conditions has been developed. Based on the study of the mathematical model, it is possible to determine the thermal conductivity of the coke residue, which approximates with satisfactory accuracy the calculated temperature curves of the cooling process to those obtained in the experiment. The error in determining the thermal conductivity is estimated by the response function – mean-square deviation of the calculated temperatures from the experimental ones at the given point of the coke residue volume during the experiment. In the framework of this approach, the solved problem belongs to the class of inverse problems of thermal conductivity. Based on the analysis of experimental data, two temperature intervals are distinguished, in each of which the thermal conductivity of the backfill is described by a linear temperature function. The coefficients of these two functions are determined by minimizing the response function using the Box-Wilson method. The obtained results are used for the development of industrial heat power facilities. The developed method and supporting software are used in scientific researches, as well as in the educational process in the preparation of bachelors, masters and graduate students.
