Computer Adaptive Testing as an Automated Control of Students’ Level of Preparadness Taking into Account their Individual Characteristics

The article discusses the questions of standardization of assessment procedures with an individual approach. Performance indicators such as time spent on organization and control, the number of tasks that are necessary for the estimating and the accuracy of the estimates obtained were defined as valid characteristics. In addition, the advantages of computer adaptive testing are presented. An algorithm of two- step adaptive testing is implemented, which is introduced on the basis of filtering according to a given initial information and the location of tasks by level of complexity. The organization of the modeling process using the adaptive test generation in the selected intervals of the measured scale is described. The scale for evaluating the results of computer adaptive testing, and the scheme of the algorithm at all three stages of testing are given.
