Justification of the Economic Efficiency of a Rational Method to Increase the Snow Accumulation at the Fields

It is shown, that the main factor determining the success of the cultivation of crops in the republic is their moisture supply during the growing season. To solve the problem of plant moisture supply, it is recommended to carry out snow retention, which contributes to the retention and accumulation of snow in the fields, ploughed field and agricultural holdings, to protect plants from freezing, and to increase moisture reserves in the soil. In this paper, we analyze two ways to increase snow accumulation in the agricultural lands in the Republic of Kazakhstan: the formation of stubble coulisses during harvesting and the double mechanical snow retention at the stubble background. To perform the first option, Yenisei KZS-950 harvester thresher is used together with a reaping machine of the direct combining with a stripper adapter installed in its center. To perform the second option, it is necessary to use Yenisei KZS-950 harvester thresher together with the ZhZK-7.1 reaping machine of the direct combining for harvesting, as well as K-744R1 tractor together with SVSh-10 snow breaker for the double mechanical snow retention. The economic evaluation of experimental results shows that the use of the reaping machine of direct combining with the stripper adapter will ensure annual savings of total cash costs in the amount of 3182.6 tenge/ha. The economic effect was obtained by reducing the total cash costs in particular due to the formation of stubble coulisses during the harvesting process as a result of which additional funds are not required for the mechanical snow retention.
