Analysis of a timing control algorithm for QS-CDMA

A new timing control (TC) algorithm for quasi-synchronous code-division multiple-access (QS-CDMA) is described. Timing control is established via two-way transmissions of low duty cycle Barker sequences between remote terminals (RTs) and the access point (AP). The throughput is analyzed in terms of the the average number of active RTs per frame, and the percentage of data packets successfully transmitted. Both matched filter and minimum mean-square error (MMSE) detectors are considered in the throughput computation, with BCH coding for compatibility with ATM networks.
