PTT Based Portable Cuffless Systolic Blood Pressure Estimation

This paper proposes a method of cuffless systolic blood pressure estimation based on the measurement of Pulse Transit Time (PTT) after acquiring PPG and ECG signal simultaneously from different subjects using a compact device. In this study PPG signal has been acquired using TCRT 1000 Phototransistor and ECG signal has been acquired using AD8232 signal condition circuit. The acquired signals were then interfaced in tandem with the computer using Arduino Uno interfacing device. The proposed method offers a compact, cost effective cuffless approach of measuring systolic blood pressure which can easily be implemented as portable healthcare device.
