Prototype Design of An IoT Enabled Cost-Efficient Portable Heart-Health Data Acquisition System

Ccardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in India with more than 80% contribution from rural areas. A deep down study reveals some alarming reasons like financial degradation, high population growth, unavailability of a specialist doctor, unawareness on health status, and poor infrastructure of the hospital. Medical practitioner generally predicts cardiovascular disease from the certain screening parameters like heart sound, Electrocardiography, Heartbeat rate, blood pressure, etc. In this work, a complete patient data acquisition system, that collects different health parameters using specified sensors (ECG, HBR, Heart Sound), has been proposed acknowledging cost-efficiency, portability, reliability, and simplicity of the device. Solar powered acquisition system represents on board data storing, simple User Interface, realtime signal visualization, and IoT based remote monitoring using ThingSpeak and ESP8266.
