Research on the application of hydraulic disc brake in precision positioning of large radar antenna

Because of the large rotating inertia of large radar antenna, the time-delay effect is obvious. When precise positioning control is carried out, the sampling period is required to be short, and the adverse effect of time-delay effect is obvious. How to reduce the influence of transmission chain error on positioning control accuracy is particularly important. In this paper, a locking strategy for low-speed axle brake is proposed. The advantages and disadvantages of common brakes and the installation methods of different locations are compared. The composition and characteristics of hydraulic disc brake are introduced in detail. The precise positioning process and application effect of hydraulic disc brake applied to a large radar antenna are emphatically discussed. The test results show that the positioning accuracy and repetitive positioning accuracy of the system are higher than 0.01 degrees. The hydraulic disc brake is a new type of brake and it combines the hydraulic pressure with the control. The engineering experience has proved that the safety of the hydraulic disc brake is high. It is especially suitable for the safe braking and precise positioning of large radar antenna.
