Torque ripple minimization by current harmonic injection in permanent magnet synchronous machine

The paper deals with the finite element analysis (FEA) of electromagnetic torque of permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) driven by six leg inverter. The machine of surface mounted permanent magnet (SPM) rotor and fractional slot concentrated winding (FSCW) has been analyzed as a case study problem. The phase currents are modulated by higher harmonics to reduce the torque ripples. The wide range fractional analysis have been performed. Obtained results show that torque ripples can be effectively reduced by injection of current harmonics and using six-leg inverter.
