Fuzzy Fault Tolerant Control combined to an adaptive Super twisting observer: application IM

A combination of the fuzzy logic and the adaptive super twisting observer is designed in this paper, to make a robust fault tolerent control (FTC) design of the induction machine (IM). The sensor to be monitored in our case is the speed sensor. The modular structure of the FTC scheme allows it to be installed in the existing closed-loop system and the observer can be designed independently. The goal is to develop a fuzzy decision system that allows fault-tolerant control. The proposed approach would be able automatically reconFigure the system in case of the speed sensor is damaged. The defective fuzzy detection system transitions between speed sensor and the robust observer based on adaptative super-twisting, that ensure the continuity and stability of the system. The control strategy must be able to ensure not only the system robustness, againt parameters variation, but also a quick transition in the event of the fault. The simulations results and the effectiveness of the control strategy have been carried out using using Matlab environement.
