The influence of coupling of charge/discharge rate and short term cycle on the battery capacity of Li-ion batteries

With the wide application of new energy vehicles, the research on automotive power lithium batteries has attracted a lot of attention. However, the battery life problem of power electric vehicles is a major factor that plagues the development of lithium batteries. In the present paper, the standard 18650 batteries were cycled for 200 numbers at discharge ratio of 2C to analyze the variation characteristics of the internal battery capacity. In addition, the batteries were cycled at different discharge ratio to investigate the influence of coupling of charge/discharge rate and short term cycle on the battery capacity. The results found that the internal capacity of the battery was reduced with the increase of the number of charge and discharge cycles. In addition, the battery capacity was also decreased with the increase of the discharge ratio. The results is significant studying how to promote the safe and orderly operation of lithium-ion batteries.
