An Infrared Image Enhancement Method Based on Power Function Histogram Equalization

Traditional histogram equalization and gray transformation enhancement algorithms cannot effectively enhance infrared images. After comparing the advantages and disadvantages of various algorithms, this paper proposes a histogram equalization algorithm based on power function. The algorithm realizes the redistribution of the gray level of the original image by processing the histogram of the original image with square and threshold translation, reduces the over-merging and over-stretching of the gray level, and can effectively resist the disturbance of the image caused by the sudden entry of bright and dark scenes. The enhancement effect of the infrared image is obvious.
