Space Target Association Based on Epipolar Geometry Constraints under Multi-Star Sensors

The star sensor can be used as a monitoring platform for space targets. The star target in the star map is a small target with no texture, color and other features. With the epipolar geometry constraint, the threshold value can be set first. The objects in the star maps taken by the star sensors overlapping the field of view are roughly associated. When multiple candidate targets are present, the associated target is the nearest one to the epipolar line. Finally, the relevant results are summarized and the observation information of each target under different platforms is obtained. The algorithm achieves the multi-objective synchronization association under multi-sensors and has good robustness to the jitter and deviation generated by the star sensor. When there are a large number of space targets in the star maps, the correlation accuracy can reach more than 90%.
