Optimization of Energy Harvesting System design by Functional Analysis

This document presents a new concept of the Bond Graph modeling for the proposed piezoelectric harvester which allows a cost-effective intelligent vibration harvest policy with an adoptive piezoelectric system to improve the ride comfort and will be made available in all modern motorcycle in the near future. A dynamic model is developed for a suspension system considering lateral forces, vehicle's longitudinal load and road resistance using the Bond Graph modeling. It is followed by a 20-Sim block connected to MATLAB-Simulink to simulate of the state variables. A basic piezoelectric harvest system model is developed using Bond Graph tools dynamics for different suspension damper. Then a concept of vehicle suspension system connected to the piezoelectric harvest is introduced A 20-Sim simulation of this model is done to check the stability of the system.
