Virtual reality for physical rehabilitation: A Pilot study How will virtual reality change physical therapy?

This experiment aims to evaluate the experience of rehabilitation therapists using an application developed for the improvement of physical fitness in a rehabilitation setting. This experiment is a continuum of several years of RDI activities in the field of digital rehabilitation and exergaming. This study is the first trial with virtual reality glasses in this field. Questionnaires were used to test for sickness associated with VR, the usability of the application, and satisfaction and presence. Results show that participants enjoy playing this exergame, which can be an effective way to improve the participation of physical activity and increase physical fitness. According to the therapists' insights, VR is helpful for physical rehabilitation and improve performance in real life. These findings help set the scene for further testing in VR applications developed by our lab by the target populations.
