A New High Gain Modified Boost-Derived Hybrid Converter with Simultaneous DC and AC Outputs

In this paper a novel topology of hybrid converters which can supply simultaneously both DC and AC loads is presented. This topology is obtained by substituting a full bridge inverter topology with controllable switch of modified boost converter. Consequently, hybrid converter requires lower switches to supply AC and DC loads. Also this converter adds an instinct protection against shoot-through in inverter part which increases reliability of power electronic switches. In this converter, AC output voltage is parameter of both DC/DC converter gain and modulation index. Then in this converter, unlike voltage source inverters, by increasing DC/DC converter gain AC voltage is increased. In this paper, steady state analysis of proposed converter has been done to obtain AC and DC gains. Then, simple boost switching method has been used to simulate the operation of proposed converter. The effects of DC/DC converter gain and modulation index on AC and DC output voltages has been tested by a simulation in Simulink/MATLAB software. Results of simulation show low current and voltage ripple for inductors and capacitors, respectively. Also THD voltage of AC output is less than 4% which based on IEEE-519 standard for distribution networks is suitable for most of AC loads.
