Performance Analysis of CFBG and DCF Based on Dispersion Compensation

This paper compares the chirped fiber bragg grating (CFBG) with dispersion compensation fiber (DCF) in single channel optical communication system. The configurations have been simulated using some initial parameters such as length of the fiber, dispersion, and bit rate to analyze the performance by comparing the results of the receivers. Different parameters of the Chirped FBG, such as the chirp parameter, the length of the grating period along with the apodization are considered to obtain the most appropriate values for the proposed system. The Optisystem 16.1 was used to simulate the entire system. The eye diagram obtained for the signal transmission at the bit rate of 10 Gbps proves CFBG proves to be more immune to dispersion as compared to DCF.
