Improve Performance Electrical Power System on Mahakam System Using Static Var Compensator

This research is intended to improve the East Kalimantan electric power system which has a name Mahakam system. The electric power system generally experiences voltage drops and power losses when distribute electrical energy. For this reason, FACTS equipment is needed in the form of static var compensator to help increase voltage and reduce power losses that occur. The Mahakam system will be modeled and then simulated using a static var compensator. The results of the simulation show the comparison voltage values of all 150 kV buses in the Mahakam system model without and with 62 MVAR static var compensator equipment installed on 150 kV bus Industri substation. And when static var compensator installed there is an increase in voltage on all 150 kV buses with an average 0.613 kV.
