Smart Microgrid Operation via Demand Dispatch Approach on Dimmable Dispatchable LEDs

The main goal of this paper is to optimally operate the FUM microgrid to face minimum operation cost using a dedicated demand dispatch method on dimmable dispatchable lighting system of the microgrid. The FUM microgrid is practically implemented in PSRES laboratory of engineering faculty of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. Cost of electricity purchased from grid, life reduction of batteries, battery energy loss, users inconveniency rooted from dispatching lighting system and sensitivity of microgrid users to environment brightness are considered in the optimization problem. In the long-term study, solar generation and microgrid load are estimated and best energy sharing is obtained through an optimization problem. In short-term study, control procedure stabilizes microgrid energy flow during stochastic behavior of solar generation and load, while load can be dispatched within some constraints. Day-ahead and real time operation of the microgrid are attained using Python Software with the method of Sequential Least Squares Programming (SLSQP) and MATLAB software.
