Research on Connotation, Rules and Practice of Adopting International Standards

International Standards represent the common needs of all countries and are widely used in the world. They are one of the important bases for eliminating technical barriers to trade. Therefore, it is very important to adopt and apply International Standards. This paper defines the basic concepts of adopting International Standards; analyzes the category, connotation and judgment method of degrees of correspondence; studies the principles of adopting International Standards; summarizes the rules and application practice of adopting International Standards by major countries in the world, with a view to clarifying the connotation of adopting International Standards, improving the standardization level of adopting International Standards, improving the convenience and effectiveness of enterprises in applying International Standards, thus promoting international trade and exchange.
