Positioning Performance Requirements Evaluation for Grid Model in Ultra-Dense Network Scenario

The 5G New Radio beamforming control during active communication sessions can substantially increase spatial multiplexing capabilities in ultra-dense networks (UDN) and is possible with preliminary location estimation of neighboring stations being another radio emission sources (RES). This article discusses grid model scenarios to access 3-dimensional accuracy computation and visualization of RES positioning in UDN. The possibility of spatial separation of neighboring RES is determined on the basis of Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB) concentration ellipsoid which indicates location error and its direction. 5G positioning requirements and general case of dense sensor grid model is considered. Urban layout example scenario was simulated and revealed positioning accuracy up to 3 m in 3D UDN model.
