Co-axial Feed with variations of U-slot in Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antenna at 2.45 GHz

Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antenna (RMPA) with U-slot is designed. It is incorporated with coaxial probe along the patch-length. Microstrip Patch Antenna (MPA) is classified on various types due to its cheaper cost, uncomplicated fabrication and low profile. A meticulous study of the designed antenna is presented and operated at the frequency of 2.45 GHz for WLAN applications. Rogers RO4350 substrate material with a height of 6 mm is utilized. The major design considerations for proposed antenna are radiation pattern, return loss, gain and VSWR. For the designed antenna, gain is 4.41 dB and bandwidth is 260 MHz. The antenna which is designed is replicated using HFSS.
