A Novel High gain Two Port Antenna for Licensed and Unlicensed Millimeter-Wave Communication

A novel planar Two Port antenna for licensed and unlicensed Millimeter-Wave bands is presented here. The substrate, Rogers RT/duroid 5880(tm) having a dielectric constant of 2.2 and a d value of 0.0009 is used to design the antenna. The antenna provides a better impedance matching at the two resonating frequencies with the VSWR values 1.02 and 1.06 respectively. The relative return loss values for the two resonant frequencies are -41.91 dB and -30.69 dB respectively. The gain of the proposed antenna for the licensed band is having a peak of 10.25 dBi and for the unlicensed band is 9.6 dBi. It has an Impedance bandwidth of 31–33%. The dimensional profile of antenna is 40x20x1.6 mm3. The unique performance of the antenna in connection with gain, radiation pattern, impedance matching, return loss and isolation makes it a suitable candidate to be used for licensed and unlicensed Millimeter-Wave communication.
