Subnanosecond X(γ)-Ray Sensor Based on CH3NH3PbCl3 Perovskite Single Crystals

Organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite materials with unique properties (large mobility-lifetime product and low cost) have achieved high sensitivity radiation detection by using direct photon-to-current conversion. Here, we report a fast radiation detector based on perovskite single crystals by using indirect photon-to-photon conversion radiation detection. The X (γ)-ray excited light emission peak is located at 435 nm, which matches the response wavelength of most silicon-based photodetectors. The time profile was excited by pulsed gamma-ray with a duration about 3 ps. The fast decay time is 0.51 ns, and with full width at half maximum time resolution is 0.68 ns. The CH₃ NH₃ PbCl₃ single crystals scintillator exhibits good scintillation properties with fast decay time and good time resolution.
