A Novel Reconfigurable Hybrid AC/DC Technique by using Solar Converter Topology

A single-phase single-stage topology based reconfigurable inverter is proposed and employed for a solar powered hybrid ac to dc home in this research work. The major benefits observed are dc to dc conversion, dc to ac conversion, and grid-tie operation. Therefore, the resulting power loss during conversion, price, and volume of the converter is minimized. This hybrid ac to dc and dc to ac home comprises the both the type of equipment's. This category of home supports to decrease the power reduction by avoiding unwanted two-stage power conversion which in turn helps in improving the harmonic profile. The methodology adopted for making this possible is segregating dc loads to the dc supply-side and rest of the loads to the ac supply side. MATLAB/Simulink is utilized to complete the simulation and the obtained results match the speculative analysis. The novel inverter topology suggested in this paper opens new opportunities for future energy efficient smart grids and microgrids.
