Performance Analysis of Smart Antenna for Marine Communication

An improved marine communication system is essential to ensure the safety of the fishermen community when they are in the deep sea. A smart antenna is used either as base station antenna (BS) at the seashore or as customer premises equipment (CPE) antenna on a moving vessel is considered here. The localization of the fishing zone and the antenna beam is directed towards that region is done by employing signal processing algorithms in smart antenna. The number of antenna elements and spacing between the elements is the factors that make the antenna beam as optimum narrow. This performance analysis method for the smart antenna appears as an essential candidate for marine communication applications.
