Design of Speed Control System of DC motor Based on PID tuning with fuzzy define weighting point

considering the non-linear characteristics of the DC motors and the design challenges under the mechanical changes due to the ambient conditions. Moreover, precise control cannot be achieved using only classical PID control. This paper proposes a novel technique for optimizing the speed of the separately excited DC motor. This optimization process is accomplished by decreasing the rise time, settling time and overshoot characteristics. Fuzzy logic in cooperation with PID is used to implement an appropriate performance. As well known the conventional fuzzy has no integral part, and the weak point of the PID is the overshoot. This paper combines both the fuzzy logic and PID control using a weighting point in proportional action to achieve an enhanced controller. Moreover, acquire the advantages of both methods. Consequently, a balancing is attained between the overshoot and the rise time in the motor speed response. Matlab Simulink is used to model the DC motor then fuzzy define weighting point method applied to control the motor speed. The comprehensive simulation results show that the design has a faster response, no overshoot, better robustness, and dynamic and static performance. It outperforms the classical control techniques for attaining high precise control.
