LabVIEW based Fuzzy Logic Controller for PLC

This project aims to design fuzzy logic controller for PLC using LabVIEW software. Since LabVIEW software replaced almost all physical instruments by virtual instruments which makes analysis and design easier. Similarly PLC software on the other hand replaced contactors and other switching devices with compact software based device. In this project fuzzy logic controller is designed on LabVIEW particularly for tank water level control. The inputs to fuzzy logic controller are water level in the tank and outflow rate are taken by the help of PLC from the tank level sensor and flow rate sensor. LabVIEW access sensor values using NI OPC-Server. NI OPC-Server connect LabVIEW and PLC. Then this inputs are analyzed on LabVIEW. After analyzing the inputs fuzzy logic controller decision is transferred to PLC which then manipulate the actuator in this particular case the DC pump driver. The simulation results shows promising performance, while hardware experimentation shows that it is possible to control PLC without using any PLC programming software with LabVIEW.
