Height of Burst, Fuze Function time and other ballistic parameters of Air Burst Grenade with Non-Intrusive measurement

40mm Air Bursting Grenade Individual Weapon (ABGIW) indigenously designed with Air Bursting fuze was tested at Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE) for determining fuze function parameters by indirect method as the shot was not instrumented. This paper presents a technique using non-intrusive measurements to find out ballistic parameters like Muzzle velocity, range, total flight time, fuze function time & projectile velocity at fuze function event and height of Burst by the use of single 10 GHz Doppler radar and High speed photography in dynamic firing of 40mm ABG ammunition.
