Algorithm for Estimating Arterial Pressure Based on Spectral Analysis of the Pulse Wave Form

The article discusses the most common existing methods for assessing blood pressure (BP), a comparative analysis of these methods has been conducted. Despite the huge number of methods of diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases used in practice, an urgent task in the last decade is to develop new methods, as well as improving and expanding the functionality of existing ones. The authors considered the main sources of errors in the assessment of blood pressure. Considered the differentphysical methodsof measurement used in portable devicesfor measuring thestate of the CVS. The paper substantiates the necessity of increasing the accuracy of blood pressure assessment. The study revealed significant differences in the shape of pulse waves at different levels of external pressure. Conclude possibility and ways of implementing a new class of devices for solving critical state timely identification problems for the persons suffering from cardiovascular diseases. The proposed algorithm for assessing blood pressure based on a spectral analysis of the shape of pulse waves allows to increase the accuracy of blood pressure estimation by the oscillometric method. Application of the proposed algorithm makes it possible to take into account the individual characteristics of each patient.
