A Lightweight Authenticated Key Agreement Scheme Integrated Privacy-Preserving Data Transmission for Smart Grid

The smart grid is deeply integrated by the information network and the power grid, which enables the power system to achieve more flexible and efficient control and scheduling. However, a series of privacy issues have arisen because the smart grid environment is untrustworthy. If the criminals mine and analyze the intercepted data, they will get information such as the user’s personal information, living habits, and whether they are at home. Obviously, this is a problem that cannot be ignored and urgently needed to be solved. In this paper, we propose a lightweight privacy-preserving scheme based on the improved Diffie-Hellman protocol. We innovatively incorporate the idea of identity authentication into the DH protocol and use asymmetric cryptography to encrypt key material to protect against replay attacks. At the same time, Diffie-Hellman key negotiation technology is used to dynamically generate high-density session keys. Security performance analysis shows that when compared with the commonly used privacy protection scheme, the proposed scheme has the advantages of being lightweight, no need for trusted third party support, anti-managin attack, and facilitating the control center to connect more users.
