Implementation of Electrical Separation of Brushless DC Motor Phases for Electric Vehicle

This document is to present theoretical and experimental application to electrically isolate the three stages of the Brushless DC motor (BLDCM). Eight-switches bridge converter (ESBC) is used to assist electrically decouple the three-phase of BLDCM. Presentation of BLDCM's efficiency applicable to Electric Vehicle (EV). To boost system reliability, ESBC is used to drive the BLDCM. ESBC's performance features are checked under various working circumstances. MATLAB code (m-file) used to introduce the performance features of ESBC. Two theoretical systems are built for medium and low motor power ratings (m-file) code. To verify the simulation analysis, an experimental setup is introduced. The validity of the simulation is confirmed by a comparison between theoretical and experimental results.
